The Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino (HACSB) purchased a condominium project which was partially constructed and rented. The HACSB purchased the project with the intent of converting the condominiums to apartments. HKA was hired to complete the construction of 40 units in 10 buildings. Each apartment unit was at a different stage of construction. HKA hired and contracted directly with the previous construction contractors to finish the project. This ensured that the warranty work would have a strong and clear line of responsibility.

The previously completed condominium project was not constructed in accordance with the approved set of plans. HKA had to negotiate with the City regarding the portions that were constructed, prepare a new set of engineering plans for City approval, and modify the project to include ADA accessible apartments, ADA path of travel and ADA designated parking.

HKA prepared bid packages, reviewed bids, and performed as the General Contractor ensuring quality on-time construction services.
