I-215/Los Alamos Interchange
Murrieta, CA
HKA provided the Resident Engineering and inspection services during the landscape construction and plant establishment phases of the improvements at I-215 / Los Alamos Interchange. The improvements included construction of two (2) Murrieta Diamonds and the installation of low water demand hardscape and plant features. Drip irrigation was installed to provide a highly efficient watering system for the trees and shrubs.
HKA’s services began before construction bidding with a constructability review and revised Engineer’s Estimate. The risk level assigned to the project was lowered, changing the project from requiring an SWPPP to a WPC Program.
HKA assisted during the bidding process by answering questions, reviewing bids for completeness, reviewing the WPC Program and leading the pre-construction meeting. Activities during construction include stormwater inspections and inspection of pavement repair on ramps. Work required coordination with Caltrans for ramp and shoulder closures.
HKA provided inspection, stormwater and office engineering services, including all reporting and compliance documentation. This included the daily diaries, certified payroll, monthly progress payment requests, monthly reports, RFIs, submittals and other documentation. HKA coordinates with City, Caltrans oversight engineer and utilities including the Eastern Municipal Water District and Edison.
