Construction Management I-210 San Bernardino County Transportation Authority

This project consists of $20 million dollars of new planting and irrigation along 8 miles of the I-210 freeway from the City of Fontana to the I-215 interchange in San Bernardino. Since 2010, Hernandez, Kroone & Associates (HKA) has been providing construction management and inspection services.
Specific project elements include:

Constructability reviews of the landscaping and irrigation plans, specifications, and estimates prior to advertising

Construction Management of 5 different Contractors, one for each segment

Designing solutions for poor drainage areas

Biological testing of plants to determine demise from frost pests, or fungus

Developing innovative solutions and engineering costs estimates for change orders that reduced the price and shortened the schedule.

Coordination with San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and Caltrans

Water purveyors and utility companies

Review and inspection of the Contractor’s Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
As the CM for the project, HKA is responsible for answering all RFI’s, processing pay estimates, ensuring compliance with certified payroll, handling change orders, and maintaining project paperwork in accordance to Caltrans uniform filing system, manuals and procedures.
